After graduating from University, I plan to use the knowledge and experience I gained from University to make an impact on communities in need. However, I didn’t know how, or where to start.
So I did some self-introspection, listing all my skills, abilities and strengths. Once I determined my strengths and weaknesses, I did some research on what I should do using my knowledge to gather as much data as possible.
At that time there was so much information, so many social issues happening in Indonesia, I was stunned by the information overload. I took a short break and tried to exercise.
One day when I was jogging to clear my head, I saw a person with a disability exercising with a smile. With all his limitations, he still did his best and continued to exercise. I, who was already tired of exercising, felt embarrassed that he continued to exercise without a break. At that moment I thought “what can I do to help the disability community?”
And there I decided that helping people with disabilities would be my first project. I wanted to help the disability community but I didn’t know where to start and I just did it. You only live once.
